1. EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN (BUILD YOUR JACKET)
I have been struggling with buying too many clothes, especially jackets and hoodies. Oftentimes, I easily get bored with the design making me purchase another batch of clothes again. I am also very picky about the design hence I always take a long time in deciding what to buy. This is why I decided to create a machine-made customizable jacket. My product, “Build your Jacket” is divided into four parts: the collar, the sleeves, the side pockets, and the hemline.
The customer can purchase one whole jacket plus two free sleeves. If they want to customize the collar, side pockets, and hemline they need to purchase it separately. Black, white, and neutral are the only available colors for the whole jacket. Eco-nylon, synthetic leather, polyester-cotton, and jeans are the material options. For their two free sleeves, they can choose any color, pattern, character, and material. The jacket can be assembled through zippers and buttons hidden on the jacket. The price of one jacket ranges from ₱799-899 while the separate parts only range from ₱299-399. My target customers are adolescents and those in their early adulthood (15-30 y/o). I plan to market it on social media. As for the physical store, I intend to make its location near school grounds. The function of this jacket is to help the students afford stylish yet sustainable clothing. By buying my product, they can save money and time while also contributing to lessening pollution.

2. MENTOR-LED DESIGN (THREE-PIECE SKULL SUIT)
For my mentor-led design, I decided to create a Boa Hancock-inspired outfit. Boa Hancock is a fictional character created by Eiichiro Oda from the anime called One Piece. I chose her because I was fascinated by the patterns, color, and style of her clothes. Her violet pirate dress especially captured my attention which made me create a whole outfit from it. I turned her violet dress into a crop violet cotton jacket with faux fur. The patterns of the jacket are similar to her dress.
I paired it with a black cotton crop top printed with a skull and wide violet cotton trousers. This outfit is both casual and luxurious. Making it suited for parties and clubbing. The design is also convenient for a sudden change of temperature because the wearer has the option to wear or remove the fur jacket. The price of this whole outfit is ₱2500. It is quite expensive because it is handmade and the price of materials is pricey as well. I primarily plan to sell it to affluent teenagers and those in their early adulthood (18-30 y/o) who are fans of One Piece, but even those who are not can rock this outfit. I will sell it through social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
