Detachable Solar Panel
A durable yet lightweight solar panel that can detach from the lamp for those people who are always on the go.
If the user is not going outside, the detachable solar panel serves as a magnetic holder for the pen.
Charging Time
The charging time for the solar panel is 5 hours.
There is a reliable backup battery in the solar panel that can protect your pen from overcharging.
Solar Panel Details
This solar panel can reach up to 2.0w output in direct sunlight. Its impressive 13000W capacity can charge your pen for up to 5 days.
The solar panel is very eco-friendly. It is made out of quartz which is a natural material. The electricity produced from solar panels carries no emissions, greenhouse gases, and fossil fuels. It also generates significantly more energy than it consumes in its manufacture.
Sew Pen
Sew pen has the same function as proposed in cw3. However, the material was changed into High-Density Polypropylene (PP). It is a recycled thermoplastic polymer that is very durable and eco-friendly. When compared to other plastics, it uses the least amount of energy and emits the least amount of carbon dioxide. It also dissolves faster, taking only 20-30 years to break down compared to over 500 years for some other plastics.
Granite Base
For the base, Granite is used instead of plastic. It is durable and fireproof. It is also eco-friendly because it is a naturally occurring rock.
The four rubber circles at the bottom function as anti-slip for the base.
Glass Fashion Figure
For the glass fashion figure, Borosilicate glass was used instead of plastic. Borosilicate glass is a durable and heat-resistant glass. It is made using two high concentration chemicals that are SAFE and eco-friendly: boron trioxide and silica.

- Chameleon Glass Design
Chameleon skin pattern
For my biomimicry design, I incorporated the visual texture, color, and pattern movement of the scale of a chameleon.
I also mimicked the shape of its scale. However, I adjusted it slightly so that it won't cause discomfort for those who have trypophobia (strong fear or disgust of closely packed holes and bumps).
Chameleon Design Details
The lamp will be entirely made with reinforced Borosilicate glass and quartz sand to ensure that it will be sturdy, long-lasting, heat and cold resistant. Aluminum metal will be used to support the connectors and the silhouette frame.
The pattern color and movement will start at the bottom of the base to the head of the figure. Using the product's app, the user can control the color and dimness of the lamp and synchronize it with music.
